About the joint
An unassuming pop-up stand in the Scadding Court Market, Wiggle Room is one of Toronto's most surprising joints. It's a one-man show… and what a show it is! Nothing's more satisfying than standing 4 feet away from your burg while it's being cooked to perfection. While relatively new on the Toronto burg scene, we're fairly certain Wiggle Room will be here for many derbs to come.
Nom nom nom.

I had originally planned on going to Rude Boy. I drove 30 mins across town only to find that they weren't open for lunch. Disappointed but not wanting to waste a trip, I consulted Burger Derby's leaderboard, to see what's was unreviewed in the area. Wiggle Room pooped up. They were near by, and I'd seen them posting to twitter, so what the hell! I had no idea what to expect. Boy was I in for a treat.
For starters, Daniel (owner and chef) is a great guy. He was totally cool with me snapping away with my camera, and was more than excited to chat about what makes a quality burg. It's always great to see someone passionate about the food they make.
And his passion is evident in his burgs.
I had planned on getting, "The Burger," but Daniel insisted I get the Blue Burger. He explained that it was the best representation of his burger vision. So, I went with that.
It turned out to be one of the best burgs in Toronto, no question. It's a perfect example of great ingredients, treated simply. The sweetness of the caramelized onions balanced the sharpness of the blue cheese amazingly well. And of course, the meat was perfectly seasoned, and perfectly cooked. I couldn't eat it fast enough.
Hat's off to Wiggle Room. They're doing the lord's work!
